History and uniqueness

This cheese was the most popular in the world from the 14th till the 18th century, especially in the colonies. Since Edam matures really well, it was the perfect cheese to take with on sea voyages. This classic Dutch cheese is characteristically shaped like a ball. Its creamy texture and mild taste makes it a favorite. Friesland Campina Edam cheese originates from the unique open landscape of Northern Holland. For generations this area has been expertly crafting cheese from milk of the famous Frisian cows, to produce pure and tasty cheeses.
