Company "Dolce Italia" more than 25 years successfully produces high quality confectionery products. One of them – profiteroles. This dessert were created during the Renaissance period. The Italians believed, that when Caterina de Medici, an Italian noblewoman from Tuscany moved to France in 1533 to marry Henry II, she brought all of her recipes and chefs together. It’s believed, that one of the chefs - Popelini, created the recipe for profiteroles in 1540, and it became very popular in France immediately. The word “profiterole” comes from the French word “profit”, which means profit or earnings.
